Chapter 3: Of God’s Eternal Decree

By the decree of God, for the manifestation of his glory, some men and angels1 are predestinated unto everlasting life; and others foreordained to everlasting death.2

  1. 1 Timothy 5:21

    In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus and of the elect angels I charge you to keep these rules without prejudging, doing nothing from partiality.

  2. Romans 9:22-23

    What if God, desiring to show his wrath and to make known his power, has endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction, in order to make known the riches of his glory for vessels of mercy, which he has prepared beforehand for glory—
